About Context Soup

Ask a room full of product managers what they do and you’ll get a huge array of answers. Everything we do becomes dealing with the soup of context that we live in. Let's break it down and make it digestible.

I am May Wong, self-professed product nerd. LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ynmaywong/

I like writing long, accessible and in-depth articles on less popular topics related to product organizations. Ideally, someone outside of the software industry would be able to read any of my work and be able to understand most of what I want to convey.

People sometimes pay me to fix software companies through product operations. I partner with product leaders to build scalable product organizations through better aligned strategy, informed decisions, and ways of working.

As a result, writing is a bit of a process and these articles take time. No, I don’t use LLMs to write. Occasionally, I dabble with Craiyon to generate graphics, then I feel bad for my artist friends, so it turns into a wall of text.

I host my newsletter on ghost.org. Ghost is a non-profit organisation building open source technology for journalism. I am a huge fan of the federated open source communities and the principles of interoperability. I will not permit myself to be trapped and share a platform with voices that call for hate and the disenfranchisement of human beings.

The newsletter is a labour of love, but it is still labour. I choose how it gets used.
